Stalis Welcomes Strategic Board Advisors

Strengthening Our Strategic Direction

Stalis is proud to announce the appointment of two highly respected industry leaders to its Board of Advisors, marking a significant milestone in the company’s strategic growth.

Bill Maher, former Group CEO at Bon Secours Health System, and Dr David Sharp, who previously led both Telstra and Optum across EMEA, will now serve as Board Advisors – bringing decades of combined experience across public and private healthcare leadership, system transformation and health policy development.

Bill Maher brings a wealth of executive leadership experience across both the UK and Irish health service and private sector, including senior roles within the NHS, HSE and as Group CEO of Ireland’s largest independent hospital network. Dr David Sharp adds significant experience from his time in executive leadership positions at both Telstra and Optum following highly successful periods as both a CEO and CFO in the NHS. Maher and Sharp will work alongside Kieran Hughes, CEO as well as existing Board members with a focus on Strategy, Governance and Growth.

These appointments come at a pivotal time, following Stalis’ bold rebrand in June 2025 and the subsequent success of its executive launch events, signalling a new chapter for the business as it continues to scale its impact across health systems.

Kieran Hughes, Chief Executive Officer at Stalis remarks;

“I am delighted to welcome Bill and David to our Board of Advisors. Stalis is uniquely positioned as the go-to Data Services partner for Health Systems in the UK and Europe with a 40-year history of delivering great outcomes for our customers. I know that the experience that Bill and David bring to our organisation will be invaluable as we see more organisations tap our expertise as they drive towards digital transformation. Bill and David have been working with myself, Paul White (Chair) and our Board of Directors for some time and I look forward to our continued success.”

Why It Matters

This expansion of the board advisory team solidifies Stalis’ mission to deepen its impact across both UK and Irish healthcare systems. Bill Maher brings decades of executive leadership experience, having held senior roles across the Irish health service, including as CEO of multiple Hospital Groups and as a senior leader within the Health Service Executive (HSE), Ireland’s national body responsible for delivering public health and social care services. Former Group CEO at Bon Secours Health System, Ireland’s largest independent hospital network, Bill offers invaluable insight into both public and private healthcare delivery, strategic system transformation and delivery.

Bill Maher, Board Advisor at Stalis reflects;

“I’m delighted to be joining Stalis at this exciting time of development and growth. Irish and UK, Public and Private systems are grappling with many issues to address the ongoing challenges of healthcare delivery, value for money, achieve operational excellence and streamline systems and processes to improve patient care and outcomes.

Stails plays a key role in helping healthcare providers meet these challenges and providing much needed expertise as healthcare systems develop and expand as part of their digital transformation journeys, unlocking one of their most valuable assets, data.

I’m excited to be working with the Board, Kieran and his team as Stalis goes from strength to strength in our industry”

Dr David Sharp has spent the last 20 years operating as a global healthcare and life sciences executive. With a distinguished career spanning corporate leadership, NHS commissioning, and health policy, Dr Sharp brings a deep understanding of public-sector health transformation and data strategy within both NHS and global healthcare systems.

Dr David Sharp, Board Advisor at Stalis shares;

“Technology without good data is like technology without fuel. The NHS has an extraordinary opportunity to lead the world in healthcare innovation, but only if we embrace data-driven decision making. At Stalis, we’re combining deep NHS insight with world-class data curation to help health systems unlock predictive analytics, drive clinical improvement, and prepare for the future of AI-powered care. Our focus is more than technology, it’s about enabling safer, smarter decisions that improve patient outcomes across the UK and beyond.”

Together, their combined expertise strengthens Stalis’ leadership team and reinforces its commitment to enabling safe, intelligent data management across the health sector.

Strategic Impact

This purposeful appointment marks a significant strengthening of Stalis’ strategic leadership, reinforcing the company’s commitment to driving healthcare transformation through intelligent data services. Maher and Sharp’s combined expertise brings deep sector insight, proven governance capabilities, and a clear understanding of the priorities facing health systems across the UK, Ireland and beyond. Together with Stalis’ existing Chair, Paul White, they form a powerful advisory trio – offering thought leadership that is closely aligned with healthcare delivery imperatives, policies and operational best practices. Their presence not only enhances Stalis’ credibility with clients and stakeholders, but also ensures the company remains deeply attuned to the evolving needs of the health and care ecosystem.

Paul White, Chairman at Stalis notes;
