Introducing Stalis Monitoring

A Healthcare Focused Observability Platform for Integration, Data Migration and Enterprise Systems

Healthcare environments rely on complex, interconnected systems to move critical information between clinical applications, EPRs and data platforms. When those systems slow down or fail, the impact is immediate. Delayed results, missing data and prolonged investigations all contribute to operational and clinical risk.

Stalis Monitoring is designed to reduce that risk. It provides real time visibility across integration engines, data migration processes, archive environments and wider healthcare infrastructure. Using automated alerts and direct service desk integration, it ensures issues are detected early and escalated to the right team without delay.

Built by a team with deep NHS experience across integration, interoperability and data services, Stalis Monitoring offers a single view of system health, performance and stability at the moments it matters most.

What Stalis Monitoring Does

Stalis Monitoring gives organisations a unified monitoring and alerting layer for both Stalis and non Stalis environments. It tracks performance across integration engines, servers and data platforms and automatically generates service desk tickets when predefined thresholds are reached.

The platform integrates with Trust Jira environments or can be managed through Stalis’ own service desk. It can also trigger email notifications for organisations with simpler support models.

Stalis Monitoring works with major integration and data technologies including Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, InterSystems, Open Integration Engine, BridgeLink, SQL Server, Linux, Windows and Docker.

“Stalis Monitoring was developed in direct response to what we see across NHS programmes every day. Healthcare systems do not fail quietly – they fail in ways that create downstream clinical and operational risk. Our aim was to create a monitoring layer that catches those issues early, provides clear context and automatically gets the right people involved. Our new product gives Trusts the visibility and confidence they need to keep critical pathways running smoothly, especially during migrations, go lives and high-pressure periods.”

Andrew Craigie, Head of Product at Stalis

Why It Matters

Early issue detection: Stalis Monitoring identifies emerging problems before they interrupt clinical workflows. This includes message build up, engine failures, latency, job failures, CPU and RAM issues and endpoint connectivity problems.

Faster investigation and resolution: Automatic ticket creation ensures the right team begins troubleshooting immediately, reducing dependency on clinicians or operational staff to identify faults.

Improved reliability for go lives and BAU: The platform provides assurance during time critical project phases such as Full Dress Rehearsals, cutovers and migration weekends, where visibility is essential and internal teams may not be available.

Reduced workload for staff: Support teams receive clear, actionable information rather than incomplete reports from multiple departments. Clinical staff do not need to act as the monitoring layer.

Clear visibility and accountability: Real time dashboards and historical trends support root cause analysis, capacity planning and governance reviews.

Long term savings: Usage data highlights opportunities to right size infrastructure and avoid unnecessary hardware costs once migration and archive workloads stabilise.

Key Platform Capabilities

  • System heartbeat monitoring
  • CPU, memory and disk utilisation
  • Integration engine health and status
  • Message throughput and latency
  • Error and warning log tracking
  • Server and endpoint uptime
  • Automatic service desk ticket creation
  • Centralised dashboards for technical and operational teams

How Stalis Monitoring Supports Real Healthcare Scenarios

Integration

  • Scenario 1: Go-live / Full Dress Rehearsal or Full Scale Testing Assurance – When internal teams are offline, Stalis Monitoring acts as the early-warning system for interface failures, protecting critical go-live timelines.
  • Scenario 2: Pathology delays causing clinical disruption – Monitoring detects message backlogs and latency before they impact clinical decision-making.
  • Scenario 3: No existing monitoring solution – Trusts without monitoring rely on clinicians reporting symptoms of technical issues. Stalis Monitoring reverses this – detecting root causes instantly and reducing admin burden.

Data Migration

  • Scenario 1: Multiple source systems feeding nightly loads – If any extraction job fails, Stalis Monitoring alerts Stalis staff immediately — preventing delays in Trial Loads, Full Dress Rehearsals and cut-over to Live.
  • Scenario 2: High-volume migrations with strict sequencing – Stalis Monitoring highlights performance issues in the DB layer (RAM, CPU, disk) allowing optimisation before key milestones.
  • Scenario 3: Post-migration archive right-sizing – Usage trends reveal under-utilised servers, enabling Trusts to downscale or repurpose hardware and reduce costs.

Who Have We Designed For?

Stalis Monitoring is suitable for NHS Trusts, Private Hospitals and Health Boards with:

  • Enterprise integration engines
  • Active EPR, LIMS or RIS programmes
  • Ongoing data migrations or archive environments
  • Sites with reduced internal integration or support capacity
  • Key users include Heads of Integration, IT Operations Directors, CIOs, CTOs, Support Managers, System Administrators and Data Migration Leads.

Stalis Monitoring is a core component for future Stalis integration, migration and archive projects. Additional options include:

  • Enhancements for existing Stalis managed service customers
  • Full monitoring for wider or non Stalis environments with either Stalis support or the Trust’s own Jira instance
  • A standalone monitoring solution for new customers
  • Integration environment health checks delivered at a day rate, with the option to adopt Stalis Monitoring afterwards

A Monitoring Solution Shaped by Healthcare Experience

Stalis Monitoring has been developed to target the specific issues that repeatedly cause delays, inefficiencies and risks across NHS integration, data migration and archive programmes.

The product is compatible with the most widely used integration engines, is server and OS agnostic, aligns with clinical safety and information governance expectations and is ready for advanced analytics and AI driven insights.
